The Lake Waconia spring crappie bite is going. Crappies were found in both staging and spawning areas. With a water temp of 58 the fish should be moving in very soon. We ended with 16 before the rain picked up enough to push us off the lake. Ten feet with a crappie minnow and plain hook was best. Plastics were much slower. Try out and around the marina.

Walleye opener on Lake of the Woods produced a nice variety of walleyes with a good amount of larger fish. Lots of fish were being caught in four mile bay in 18-20 feet. Northland Tackle fireball jigs tipped with frozen emerald shiners did well. Jim, who had never jigged for walleyes, had three very nice fish in the first 30 minutes including this 30.5" beauty. 2021 should allow us to take clients out again so call to book opener on Lake of the Woods!
